Here's To An Amazing Year
What will the New Year bring for you? As we closed out 2018, I was reminded that what we put in our mind is usually what is deposited into your heart and therefore comes out of your mouth.
Are you frustrated with where life has you? What are you filling your mind with? What movies and TV are you watching? What music are you listening to? What are your friends saying? Is your mind is being filled with good things or are they being filled with fear, doubt, unwholesome talk, gossip, immortality, and hatred?
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21 NIV
“But what comes out of your mouth reveals the core of your heart.”
Matthew 15:18 TPT
How can 2019 become one of the best year of your life? Guard your heart by filtering what comes into it. Set yourself up for a great year by setting time aside to rest in the Lord. It will bring peace that only He can give. Read that book that will encourage you spiritually. Spend more time with the friends that build you up and encourage you.
Lindsay Donovan shared at a fall women’s event that if you want to begin to grow in the area of prophesy, the person you need to start with is yourself. Begin to speak words over your life that will propel you into the destiny that Christ has for you. A great verse to continually speak over your life is, “But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 NIV - Can you imagine if you live as though you have the mind of Christ? It would change everything! Fear can’t live in the mind of Christ. Having the mind of Christ means sharing the plan, purpose, and perspective of Christ, and it is something that all believers have access to.
Start to listen to worship songs on repeat that speak to the area you’re having a hard time with. “No Longer Slaves” is a good one for fear. “It is Well” is a good song when you need peace.
Look at the area you are struggling the most with and get into the Bible and see what it has to say about it. Google is great for this! I love that we live in a day in age where we can find any verse by just googling a topic or word.
Here’s to an amazing 2019 with Christ at the center.
