Your Time Is Now

Have you ever tried to make a team? Gone to a try out? Tried to succeed at something? In order to do these things, you have to practice. Just like joining a sports team, a theatre club, or a music group; when you “try out” you have to perform. You want to the best you can to make the team. There are things that you can apply to your personal life that you get when you are working to join a team.

Sometimes if we are following the wrong things, it can seem like it’s difficult to be a part of God’s team. Sometimes we get wrapped up in rules, regulations; and religion that isn’t how God meant it to be.

In order to join God’s team though; all we have to do is ask. All we have to do reach out, cry out, and surrender. Sometimes we get stuck living our lives our way. We get nowhere fast, because it’s OUR WAY. BUT GOD. When we choose to live it HIS way, it takes time; but it will NEVER fail.

You don’t have to fit into a certain box and be comfortable to walk into a church and be with God. All you have to do is say; “God I need YOU to show up”. He will see you in your pit, and pull you out.

Philippians 2: 1-5 says: Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.

This scripture holds everything together. Jesus came to give you purpose (Philippians 2:1-2). Sometimes when you struggle with your purpose, you focus everything on what you THINK is your purpose, but is actually not right. God will call you higher, and show you exactly what your purpose is, even if it doesn’t seem to be right to you.

Jesus came to give you Humility— Your life isn’t all about you. Sometimes when you are on a team; it has to be about you. YOU pull your own weight and are responsible for yourself and if you don’t you will be benched. GOD didn’t call you to the bench. You are a MVP in his eyes. But it’s all about him; and NOT about you. You have to understand what he says about you; and you don’t have to fit in a box to succeed.

Jesus came to change your attitude. Your attitude should be like His! Jesus’ attitude wasn’t perfect, but his RESPONSE was. Don’t think you have to be perfect. Know that you can identify with a savior who went through everything we have, but continued to walk through it when his life tossed him a curve ball. Jesus’ attitude was LOVE. He made a difference everywhere he went; because his response was always LOVE.

What does God want to heal you of? What does he want to speak into your reality and remind you of?

Your time is now— If you don’t have him, you need him, and YOUR time to get him is NOW.
