Testify

I can only do what God has done in me. When he’s done it in me, I have the responsibility to make sure it can be done in others.

Jesus makes a way for the invisibles. In this story, we see a woman at a well. Jesus draws up to her.

John 4:16-19

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us.

25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

Don’t trip if you are not perfect yet, you never will be. Jesus is interested in you more than what you are doing. If he can’t change and transform you; he will give a funeral to what you are dealing with. He doesn’t tell her who he is until after he has been talking with her.  We can’t leave what we came to get until we find out who he is.

28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”

She left her water and went to the town to talk to her community. Before her encounter she didn’t have a voice. Now she has a voice.

39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”

Now she has a voice and they listened to her. She was invisible without power, now she’s back and begins to testify what happened to her. Her platform wasn’t the stage it was the town she lived in. People believed because of her testimony. We need to return to the ancient form of “testify”.

I can’t go into your circle or job and talk to people because I don’t have that relationship; but YOU CAN! We need to take the power out of the hands of the paster and return it to the people.  AFTER she talked they came to Jesus.

Don’t just go invite someone. Share your testimony first; and then invite them. Don’t expect them to show up without a reason. Jesus has called us to testify where we are known.

There is nothing stopping you from testifying. You are qualified.

Why do you have a problem upgrading and talking about Jesus? Your experience with Jesus has QUALIFIED you. And YOU are the CALLED ones. — Jesus had to send someone like the Samaritans first (the woman), who looked like them and could relate to them. THEN he could go in and share his story. If you lose a key, you can’t get what’s on the other side of the lock. Most people will never receive Jesus; unless you as the key unlock faith in Christ in them.

Testify. A real relationship with Jesus will cause people to Believe.
